Is my print requirement too small for Bishops?

Definitely not! Now, with our digital print division, no job is too small. Regardless, most of our customer orders value in hundreds of pounds rather than thousands of pounds, and we recognise that you might want to try us out with a small job initially.

What is the maximum sheet size that you can print?

We are a B2 printer, which means our presses take sheets with a print area of up to 707mm x 500mm. For more information about paper sizes check our resources section.

I’m not sure what type of paper stock or weight I want to use. Can you provide paper samples for me?

We would be happy to! What’s more, we can show you examples of work using different stocks to help you make your choice, and offer advice to ensure you achieve the best result for your timescales and budget. Give us a call on 023 9233 4900 or email enquiries@bishops.co.uk.

Can you print on envelopes?

Yes, up to C3 size.

Can you print labels?

Yes, practically any size, but not reels. We can, however source a supplier for continuous labels and handle the job for you.

How do I send in my artwork to you?

However, it is easiest for you! Most customers send in their artwork via,

  • Email (direct to your account manager).
Please ensure that any files containing personal data are password protected.
  • ‘We transfer’ or similar
  • Our FTP site. Please ask your account manager for a username and password.
If you are sending content that includes personal data, make sure you select the SFTP file transfer option for extra security.

How long will my artwork files remain on Bishops’ FTP site?

Typically, files will remain on our site for 10-14 days before they are deleted.

What does ‘print ready artwork’ mean?

The graphics must be at least 300 dpi (dots per inch).

A ‘press-ready pdf’ should have bleed of 2-3mm on each trimmed edge and embedded fonts.

Can I use images copied from the web for my artwork?

No. Web graphics tend to be created at low resolution (less than 300 dpi) so are unsuitable for print work.

Can you do foil blocking?

Yes, but not in-house. We use a foil blocking specialist for superb results.

What finishing services do you offer in-house?

  • Drilling
  • Padding
  • Collating
  • Folding
  • Forme cutting
  • PUR binding and Perfect binding (not wiro binding)
  • Stapling and gluing

Will you deliver to multiple destinations?

Yes. Delivery to a single UK address is included in the price, but we can also provide split deliveries. We deliver your job to wherever you need it - mailing houses, your customer, or straight to your door. We can even arrange an overseas shipment for you, if needed.
