No problem. Our digital printing division uses high-end HP Indigo B2 and B3 digital printers to give you the kind of vibrant colours, vivid clarity and truly exceptional finished products that are usually only associated with litho printing. Our digitally printed brochures are the perfect high-quality solution for exhibitions, overseas meetings or emergency top-ups.

Our incredibly supportive prepress team make it as easy and as stress-free as it can be for you. And if you're looking for the added quality finish that spot gloss UV varnish, foiling or other specialist print finishes provide, we can handle that too - all under our 85,000 sq ft roof.

Your choice of paper type can say a lot about your publication, business or product.

Uncoated paper - has a rougher texture than coated, which gives it an extra tactility often associated with high quality products and brands. Because the paper fibres are uncoated, the ink sinks into the booklet paper, which in part makes images appear more muted than they would on coated paper, and also means the ink will take longer to dry.

Coated paper - our house coated paper combines smoothness with superb image reproduction for stand-out performance that has been tailored for publishing and advertising.

Silk - coated to give it a smooth satin finish, images will appear bright and defined. That’s probably why it is the most popular of our paper stock choices.

Gloss - Shinier than silk paper, gloss is fabulous for image-heavy booklets as the light is reflected, adding vibrancy to colour pictures. It can make large areas of text difficult to read though, so be careful.

If you would like a sample pack of our house coated paper, or any particular paper stock, just ask and we’ll be happy to put one in the post to you.

Self-cover booklets, which use the same paper stock and weight throughout, are the most economical format, but by adding heavier covers you can increase the shelf-life of your booklet and add to the perception of quality. Covered booklets allow you to add the WOW factor of gloss lamination, matt lamination teamed with spot gloss uv varnish and foiling, for example.

For all booklet printing and mailing services, Bishops Printers have you covered.

  • Choose coated paper (silk, or gloss) if your publication includes lots of photographs or illustrations. The glossy finish will reflect the light and make your images sing out from the page.

  • Uncoated paper is cheaper than coated, but because it absorbs ink it can take longer to dry, especially if your artwork includes lots of pictures and solid colour.

  • Print is a tactile, sensual experience. Your decision on paper stock needs to reflect the feeling and perception you want to achieve with your publication. Ask us to send you some paper samples to help you decide.
