What is the best binding for magazines?

Perfect binding
Ideal for thicker magazines and professional publications. Pages are glued into a square spine, giving the magazine a premium appearance.
Saddle stitching (staple binding)
Best suited to thinner magazines with fewer pages. It is cost-effective, durable and perfect for newsletters, school magazines and community titles.

What page counts work best for magazines?
Magazine page counts vary widely, but most publications fall within these ranges:
- Saddle stitched magazines: typically 8–60 pages
- Perfect bound magazines: usually 48 pages or more
Perfect binding also requires a minimum spine width of around 3mm to ensure the glue holds securely.
What paper is best for printing magazines?
The most popular paper for magazine interiors is silk coated paper, as it offers the ideal balance between vibrant colours and comfortable readability.
Other options include:
